If you’re bored in college, it’s your fault. Colleges spend a lot of money to make sure that they have enough on-campus activities to keep you preoccupied. If they didn’t, there would be no reason for people to stay. So if you’re not having a good time ask around campus and see which of these clubs and activities your school has.
Most schools have a wide variety of sports clubs that meet every week for a particular sport. Some of the most popular include Tae Kwon Do, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and rugby.
Depending on how competitive it is the team can also participate in competitions that recognition that’s just below varsity sports. This can be a great way to not only make friends and have some fun, but also stay or get in shape.
There are a bunch of groups that meet for a variety of interests. These could be anything from performing to writing to gardening. All these groups meet weekly to talk to people who have similar interests as they do. People tend to make a lot of new friends at these events and they also bring friends of theirs to them, so you will always be meeting new people.
It may have been hard for them to be recognized by people who are unaware of them because college honor societies usually go by a Greek name and it can easily be mistaken for social fraternities and sororities. Even though they aren’t listed as a social group, honor societies are a great way to be social and to meet people in the same or a similar major.
They help others get opportunities to work in the field and they get people to speak to you about their work life. They’re available for a variety of majors, look great on resume and can be a great for networking. If you meet the requirements, a honor society is definitely something to look into.
With a little self-motivation, you can be on your way to meeting people who have similar interests and maybe you can stay friends with them after graduation. These activities are a great way to have fun and to add on to your college experience.
