11 Breakfast Ideas for a Busy Schedule

Despite the busy schedules, most college students make sure they find time to eat. You may not have time to whip up a grand feast, but a morning meal is the most important meal of the day. It helps you start your day, maintain energy, and prevents you from overeating throughout the day.  Here are a few meals that are quick and easy to make—even when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

  1. Muffins. They come pre-made or you can make them yourself. Regardless, they won’t go bad for a while and are great for when you’re running out the door.
  2. Peanut Butter and Jelly. It only takes 30 seconds, two slices of bread and two spreads. Even if you’ve got a big test in the morning you can spare you cramming for a little
  3. A piece of fresh fruit. An orange, a banana…they are nature’s way of easing life and your appetite, and they’re nutritious as well.
  4. Veggies. Fruit isn’t the only option for breakfast. Grabbing a bag of carrots is ideal for a quick munch on your way to class.
  5. Toasted English muffin and peanut butter. They’re full of protein and cheap… what could be better?
  6. Granola or energy bar. Be sure to watch the calories, though. They come in small packages, but can give you a big punch.
  7. Cereal and milk. Consider buying it in bulk; you can divide it amongst you and your friends and save cash.
  8. Trail mix. If you have some spare time you can make your own ahead of time because it lasts forever and is good for a morning power up. If you buy it though, be sure not to get one that satisfies your sweet tooth.
  9. Yogurt. It often tastes like dessert, and can come in many ways. Whether you want it in a cup, a frozen pop or a smoothie, what’s not to like?
  10. Frozen waffles or pancakes. You can buy them in the store or make a bunch and freeze them. Either way, after a few minutes in the toaster, it’s a nice hot breakfast with little effort.
  11. Cheese and crackers. Grab a bag, cut a few slices of cheese and pick up some crackers and you’re good to go.
